Applications are invited for appointment as Non-Tenure Track Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology (Ref.: 492464), to commence as soon as possible on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in biomedical engineering or ophthalmology, with hands-on research experience in ocular imaging, ocular drug delivery or microfluidic systems, and expertise in molecular biology, cell culture and animal model establishment. Experience in the development of pharmaceutical products or medical devices would be an advantage. The appointee will be expected to initiate and lead laboratory-based research projects related to ocular drug delivery, ocular imaging and development of ophthalmic devices. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
