Laboratory Assistant in the Department of Earth Sciences (Ref.: 494018) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)
Applicants should have completed Form 5 or above, preferably with 4 years’ relevant experience in laboratory work. They should also have basic knowledge of computer skills, a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, good organizational and interpersonal skills, the ability to work independently and be self-motivated. Preference will be given to those with a certificate/diploma in laboratory science, driving license, and experience in the operation of rock cutting machinery and sample digestion. The appointee will provide support to the preparation of laboratory specimen for teaching and research, ensure procedures are properly followed, handle required documentation, and perform other duties as assigned. Occasional fieldwork in Hong Kong and Mainland China is also required.
