Research Manager (at the rank of Administrative Assistant II/Executive Officer) in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 494213) (2 posts) (to commence as soon as possible on a two year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree and preferably a higher degree in medical sciences, sciences or a related discipline, with at least 6 years' post-qualification work experience including 3 years’ solid experiences in research administration at supervisory or management level in the university setting. They should have excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, good written and oral communications skills in English and Chinese, strong problem-solving and organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and as a team. Experience in managing research projects and grants would be an advantage. Those with higher qualifications and/or more experience may be considered as Administrative Assistant II.
The appointees will provide high-level administrative support to a team of researchers in an antimicrobial resistance research group and manage a wide range of research projects and activities. They will manage personnel matters, budget planning and financial control, procurement and audits, accommodation (offices and labs) and group infrastructure, grant applications, and ethical review. They will also prepare reports and publicity materials (including website), make visitor arrangements, liaise with various stakeholders, and perform other duties as assigned. Work outside office hours and on weekends may be required occasionally. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview and/or a written test.
