IT Officer/IT Technician in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref.: 494263) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a good Diploma/Higher Diploma or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, preferably with at least 6 years’ post-qualification work experience. They must have expert programming experience in PHP, MySQL, CSS3 and JQuery. Experience in using PHP framework such as Codeigniter, Laravel or Symfony is preferred. They should have knowledge of MS Windows, macOS and Office applications; experience in helpdesk, and competency in troubleshooting and maintenance of computers. Knowledge of CRM would be an advantage. They should be good team players, self-motivated, able to work under pressure; and have a strong sense of responsibility and excellent communication skills. The appointee will handle programming tasks for web-based applications, maintain websites, manage outsourced projects, setup Windows/Linux PCs for computer laboratories, troubleshoot and maintain the computing and AV facilities; provide technical assistance to staff members; and perform other duties as assigned. Those with less experience may be considered for appointment as IT Technician.
