Technical Manager/Senior Technical Officer in the Faculty Proteomics and Metabolomics Core Facility of the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine (Ref.: 201701624) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or related disciplines, with at least 5 years’ solid research experience with a wide variety of hands-on laboratory experience in metabolomics and proteomics research. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English; strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, project management and supervisory skills; and be self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility. Working knowledge of nanoLC, HPLC, UPLC, LC-MS/MS, and GC-MS/MS is necessary. Previous work experience in core facilities would be considered as an advantage. The appointee is expected to optimize sample runs on various mass spectrometers for various analysis, develop protocols, and perform routine LC/GC and MS maintenance. He/She will also be responsible for user trainings and assisting in the administration of day-to-day core services. Applicants not meeting all requirements may be appointed as Senior Technical Officer.
