IT Technician (holding the functional title of Programmer) the Hong Kong Jockey Club Centre for Suicide Research and Prevention (Ref. 201701645) (to commence as soon as possible for 1 year, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s Degree/Higher Diploma in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Multimedia, or a related discipline, with at least 2 years' proven work experience in system programming. They should have programming experience in R, Java or C++, Python, SQL.; good problem solving and communication skills; and ability to work under tight schedule. Those with experience in web system programming (e.g. LAMP, JSON, Javascript) or social media APIs, good command of written and spoken English and Chinese/Cantonese, and ability to work independently are preferred. The appointee will be responsible for writing well-designed, testable, maintainable and efficient code of an alert system or application, and working with data analyst and researchers to refine specifications and requirements of the systems.
