Assistant Research Officer (holding the functional title of Data Analyst) the Hong Kong Jockey Club Centre for Suicide Research and Prevention (Ref. 20171773) (to commence as soon as possible for 1 year, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree or above in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Maths, Engineering, Statistics or other quantitative field; proficiency in written and oral communication in English and Cantonese; fluency in R, Python, and SQL; experience in big data analytic tools such as Spark, Hadoop etc. experience in integrating social media APIs; data visualization skills in Tableau, ggplot, plotly, d3.js, and ability to design, lead and execute analysis and effectively communicate insights, ideas and conclusions clearly to team members across the organization, technical and nontechnical alike. Those with work experience in at least two of the areas: natural language processing (NLP), deep learning, machine learning and statistics are preferred. The appointee will contribute in Centre’s research projects in applying big data strategies for preventing suicide and promoting well-being.
