Intervention Officer/Assistant Intervention Officer (at the rank of Senior Research Assistant/Research Assistant I) in the Department of Psychiatry (Ref.:201800011)(to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis or one-year temporary basis with the possibility of renewal, subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should have a good Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work or a related discipline, with at least 2 years’ solid work experience in frontline service. They should have an excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese; have good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills; be patient, flexible, passionate and committed; be a good team player and tactful in dealing with people; and be able to work under pressure and multitasking condition. The appointee will participate in the project “Jockey Club Mental Wellness Project for Women” which is a 3-year comprehensive and eclectic project funded by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust for women-in-need from disadvantaged background. The project has community public awareness, screening, intervention, training, and research elements. As members of a multi-disciplinary team based in the University of Hong Kong, they will work in partnership with three NGO partners and the Hospital Authority. The project aims to develop a model of community women’s mental health that provides data and experience for future service development in Hong Kong. The appointee will work closely with a Clinical Psychologist and coordinate with the NGO partners in delivering and evaluating high quality interventions to women-in-need. Professional development, supervision, and coaching will be available. He/She will also assist in the execution of various public awareness programmes with internal and external parties, prepare project-related materials and reports, and perform other duties as assigned. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointments on three-year fixed-term basis will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
