Applications are invited for tenure-track appointment as Assistant Professor in the School of Biological Sciences jointly offered by the Faculty of Science and the Faculty of Social Sciences, to commence on January 1, 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter.  The post will initially be made on a three-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year appointment.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in environmental sciences with research areas including but not limited to environmental policy, environmental change, ecosystem management, and valuation of ecosystem services. This is a joint appointment between the School of Biological Sciences (http://www.biosch.hku.hk/) of the Faculty of Science and the Department of Geography (http://geog.hku.hk/) or a related department in the Faculty of Social Sciences, with the former as the home department.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.  The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary, as well as leave, and medical benefits.  Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
