Technical Officer in the AIDS Institute of the Department of Microbiology (Ref.: 201800039) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should have at least a Bachelor's degree in Virology, Molecular Biology or a related discipline.  They should also have 3 years’ work experience in laboratory management and laboratory safety. Those with background in HIV AIDS research and experience of working in a BSL-3 laboratory would have an advantage.  Applicants should also have a good record of practical experience, be a good team player and be able to communicate in both written and spoken English and Chinese.  The appointee will oversee and manage the daily operation and safety of our laboratories, and to ensure all researchers are strictly following laboratory protocols and biosafety procedures.  He/She will also work on clinical specimens, and conduct some laboratory animal work.
