Applications are invited for appointment as Administrative Assistant II (holding the functional title of Manager) (4 posts) in the Industry Liaison Team of Technology Transfer Office (TTO) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess a degree in Science, Engineering, Chemistry, Biological Science or other related scientific or technical discipline with at least 5 years’ work experience in the relevant industry. Experience in product/business development in commercial companies would be advantageous.  They should also have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); have a high level of interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills; be familiar with IT/ science/ engineering/ chemical/ pharmaceutical industry; be highly self-motivated, creative, marketing oriented, hardworking, capable of independent in-depth research and able to work under pressure. 

Main duties:

1. Working closely with faculty members and academic staff for the collaboration with commercial entities;

2. Working closely with the University offices, especially with Legal, Finance, Research Services, Knowledge Exchange Office and Registrar, to ensure that the collaboration is in compliance with university policies, approving authorities and practices;

3. Collaboration deal structuring, internal/external negotiations, launching and execution/follow up of the projects; 

4. Institutionalizing industry network, building the industry data base, managing the communication with industry and engaging them for further collaboration;

5. Working closely with the Business Development Team of the TTO to create commercialization opportunities of the University’s technologies through active marketing and execution of industry engagement strategies; and 

6. Monitoring key performance indicators, including the number of deals administrated, amount of industry income and number of cases lead to licensing/commercialization.
