Research Assistant II in the School of Public Heath (Ref.: 201800181) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree in Science/Biology/Medical Sciences or related disciplines. They should have a good understanding on the context of sample collection, and solid work/research experience in laboratories, microbiology, molecular biology, or minus DNA extraction. Those with experience in bacterial culture and relevant research experience related to antimicrobial sensitivity testing would be highly desirable. Applicants should also be able to work independently; and be detail-oriented, well-organized and reliable. The appointee will support the daily operation of a research team working on Antimicrobial Resistance as headed by Professor Keiji Fukuda. He/She will be responsible for sample collection at hospitals and/or water treatment plants; and assist in coordinating site visit, arranging logistics in sample collection and actual collection, running experiment in laboratories; data entry; and handle any other duties assigned by supervisors.
