Research Assistant I/II in the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 201800444) (to commence as soon as possible for 6 months)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree or above in English Language Education, English Language, Linguistics or Applied Linguistics or any related discipline. Knowledge of pragmatics, phonology and/or discourse analysis would be an advantage.  Preference will be given to those who have experience in school operations, knowledge of the local education context, good research skills and substantial research experience. They should also be familiar with MS Office application (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and SPSS; have an excellent command of written and spoken English; the ability to work independently and collaboratively; and an interest in English language education and research.

The appointee will work on a research project which investigates L2 learners' learning and use of communication strategies in Hong Kong. He/She will assist in the clerical and research-related tasks including data collection, speech transcription; data entry, compilation and analysis; preparing graphs and figures; helping with literature search; and other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the Principle Investigator.
