Research Biostatistician/Assistant Research Biostatistician (at the grade of Senior Research Assistant/Research Assistant I) in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 201800562) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or above in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, or a related discipline, preferably with 1 year’s work experience in data management. Knowledge of statistical software (e.g. R, SAS, Stata) is required. Applicants should also have a strong statistical and mathematical sense, solid programming knowledge, a good command of English and Chinese, effective communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently. Those with a Bachelor’s degree are welcome to apply and may be appointed as Assistant Research Biostatistician. The appointee will primarily be responsible for conducting statistical analysis of data on breast cancer surveillance of the Chinese population in Hong Kong. He/She will apply a wide range of statistical techniques on validating prediction models and building projections into the forthcoming decades, and assist in the preparation of academic publications and reports.
