Senior Research Assistant in Learning and Assessment for Digital Citizenship in the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 201800626) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess a Master's degree or above in Education, Social Sciences or a related discipline.  They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese); good organizational skills, and experience working with and collecting data from schools. Basic competence in website management and maintenance is required, preferably familiarity with social media. Prior experience in conducting large-scale data collection and survey studies is highly desirable. They should also be self-motivated, responsible and able to work independently.  

The appointee will work on the project“Learning and Assessment for Digital Citizenship" (http://www.rss.hku.hk/links-resources/spotlight/trs-6th-round) funded by HKRGC under the Theme-Based Research Scheme.  The project, led by Professor Nancy Law of the Faculty of Education, aims to address research questions about the impact of digital media on human development and everyday life of children and youth. He/She will take key administrative and coordination responsibilities for data collection as well as related research activities in the project, including contacting schools and making necessary organizational and administrative arrangements for data collection in schools and university settings; provide support for data cleaning, preparation and analysis; assist in website development and perform other research duties as assigned. This position is beneficial to those who wish to pursue an academic career with interest in pursuing further studies in the related areas.
