Communications Executive (at the rank of Executive officer) in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 201800632) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or related disciplines, with at least 2 years’ post-qualification experience at supervisory level in the field of marketing, communications and event management, preferably with experience in NGO and/or exposure in community engagement. They should have an excellent command of English and Chinese (including Putonghua); editing and translation skills; good presentation, communication and interpersonal skills, excellent organizational and project management skills; strong knowledge and understanding of social media platforms; good eye for modern website and design trends; and good computer literacy in Chinese Word Processing and MS office. Knowledge of HTML, CMS, graphic software, e.g. Photoshop and InDesign system, will be an advantage. They should also be detail-oriented, self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility, able to work proficiently with complete independence and under immense pressure, and able to maintain high work standard.

The appointee will report to the Project Administrator and work closely with members of the project, NGOs, community partners and other divisions/teams to administer the implementation of various component of the project. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing and executing social media strategies; organizing and managing public education campaigns, promotional events and press conferences from ideation, concept development to implementation; providing support in nurturing relationships with local press; handling media enquiries; coordinating press interviews and preparing press materials for all media events; keeping track of and compiling media coverage reports; developing bi-lingual communications materials such as newsletter, pamphlet, promotion flyer, success story, project brochure, project presentation, project video, etc.; managing content development and update for project website and social media platforms; liaising with production house for the implementation of outbound on different communication channels; maintaining the databank of the project including photographs/files that can be used in support of articles, publications and on the website; carrying out day-to-day project administrative tasks; and performing other ad hoc duties as required by supervisors.
