Applications are invited for appointment as Clinical Psychologist (at the rank of Psychologist) specializing in psycho-oncology in the School of Public Health, to commence as soon as possible for six months, on a temporary part-time basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a higher postgraduate research degree, preferably a doctorate degree; have obtained an APA/BPS/APS qualification; and have completed an accredited clinical psychology training. They should be a current practitioner as Clinical Psychologist licensed with a recognized professional board. They should also have at least 10 years’ relevant post-qualification experience in adult general medical and mental health services. Those with substantive work experience focusing on cancer patients and caregivers, and experience in clinical research and clinical supervision are highly desirable. Applicants must have a strong commitment to evidence-based psychological assessment and interventions, and aspiration in psychological service development within the context of cancer care.

The appointee will join the HKU Jockey Club Institute of Cancer Care team. He/She will assist in developing evidence-based supportive cancer care services emphasizing comprehensive psychological assessments of both patients and caregivers, developing and evaluating suitable psychological interventions, providing clinically-appropriate supervision and psycho-oncology training for junior clinical psychologists, and providing support to other health care professionals.
