Research Assistant I/II in the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 201800703) (to commence on July 1, 2018 or as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree or above in Education, Social Sciences, Chinese language, or a related discipline.  They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua); technical background; good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills; knowledge of research methods and experience in conducting data analysis (qualitative and quantitative).  They should also be independent and team-oriented.  Fresh graduates with relevant research background and good academic performance are welcome to apply. Those with a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline and some research experiences will be desirable. Applicants who have taken courses on research methods and data analysis with image processing and creative media production skills will be highly valued.

The appointee will work on a project funded by Quality Education Fund entitled "Enhancing Language Education with Artificial Reality Neo-platform (eLEARN)", mainly responsible for assisting the Principal Investigator to conduct research studies in this project.  He/She will assist the Project Investigator and Research Officer in conducting educational research throughout the project, such as conducting literature review, drafting research questions and plans, designing research methods, preparing ethical review application, designing and collecting consent forms, visiting classroom and taking photos/video, conducting interviews and administering questionnaires, analysing data with SPSS or R language to visualize the research results. The appointee will help develop or customize research instruments (e.g. questionnaire, interview guiding questions) and analyze the qualitative and quantitative data collected in the project.  He/She will assist the Research Officer to draft manuscripts for publication, maintain the contents on the project website/social media platform; and manage mobile devices and other equipment.
