School Development Officer (at the rank of Assistant Lecturer) in the Centre for Advancement of Chinese Language Education and Research (CACLER) within the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 201800722) (to commence as soon as possible for 1 year, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree or above in Education, Chinese Language, Social Science or related disciplines with at least 3 years' post-qualifications teaching experience.  Those with the following qualifications will be preferred: (i) professional teaching qualification in kindergarten with preschool teaching experience; (ii) professional knowledge of Chinese Language education, assessment, linguistics, etc.  An energetic team player who is enthusiastic and takes initiative in providing quality research support service to investigators and other stakeholders is highly desirable.

The appointee will work for a project on utilizing Chinese Language Learning Progression Framework (the "Framework") to promote the learning of Chinese language for non-Chinese speaking kindergarten students.  He/She will be responsible for providing support for kindergartens; collaborating with teachers in curriculum development, lesson planning and observation, post-lesson debriefing; and promoting learning and teaching with assessment data and the Framework. The appointee will also conduct data collection and analysis, write research reports and resource packages, organize professional development workshops, and perform other duties as assigned.
