IT Officer in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref: 201800747) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should have a good Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Engineering, Information System, or other related disciplines; with at least 4 years’ work experience.  They should possess solid experience in websites, web and database applications, and office automation application development, preferably with programming knowledge of either PHP/MySQL or ASP.NET/MS-SQL, as well as hands-on experience in web technologies including HTML5, CCS3 and JQuery.  Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cylce (SDLC) is preferred.  They should also possess a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; analytical, customer service and problem-solving skills; and be good team players who can work multi-tasks under minimum supervision and deliver results within tight timeframe.  Those who have responded to the previous advertisement (Ref.: 201800419) need not re-apply.

The appointee will play an important role in the Faculty’s IT management and support by engaging in in-house design, development and maintenance of websites, web applications and office automation applications.  He/She will work independently and closely with users to collect user requirements, support user acceptance test (UAT) and provide user training.  He/She will also coordinate and liaise with external vendors for application development in order to define the functional specifications and ensure the quality of deliverables.  In addition, he/she is expected to analyze and recommend new technologies appropriate for use by the Faculty, and handle ad hoc projects as assigned.
