Senior Research Assistant in the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 201800857) (to commence on September 1, 2018 for 1 year, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess a Master's degree or above in English Language Education, English Language, Linguistics or Applied Linguistics or any related discipline with at least 1 year's relevant research experience. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken of English and Chinese (Cantonese), good research skills and the ability to multitask, and work collaboratively and independently.   Knowledge of phonology and IPA is an advantage.  They should also be familiar with MS Office applications (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and SPSS and willing to take initiative in assisting teammates.   Preference will be given to those who have experience in the operations of schools, knowledge of the local education context, good research skills and substantial research experience. 

The appointee will conduct phonemic and other speech transcriptions; handle data collection, entry and analysis; complete clerical and research-related tasks; and perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned.
