Senior Research Assistant in the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 201800941) (to commence on September 1, 2018 for 1 year, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess a Master's degree or above in English Language Education, Applied Linguistics, English Language Studies, Linguistics or any related discipline with at least 1 year's relevant research experience. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese), good interpersonal and presentation skills, and the ability to coordinate research activities. They should also be familiar with conducting statistical analysis using SPSS or R. Preference will be given to those who have experience in teaching or working with local secondary school students and conducting mixed methods research.   

The appointee will work on a research project that examines students' motivation and self-regulation in process writing. He/She will coordinate classroom-based interventions and data collection activities in local secondary schools, collect quantitative and qualitative data, perform data analysis, complete clerical tasks, prepare teacher development workshops, research presentations, manuscripts and reports, and perform other duties as assigned.
