Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor in Community Child Health in the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis or on a one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in community child health, social sciences, public health, education, psychology, statistics, child & adolescent development or other related fields, with good experience in conducting research, analyzing data, and writing papers, grant proposals and technical reports.  Those with postdoctoral experience in conducting independent research, and exceptional statistical skills, publication and grant track record are preferred. The appointee will participate in large scale school and community studies in Hong Kong, Mainland China and Asia-Pacific region, and work on various child health projects under the supervision of Dr. Patrick Ip and his collaborators in health, social science, education, statistics, media and various disciplines.  Enquiries about the duties of the post should be sent to janetcm@hku.hk.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
