Part-time Phlebotomist (at the rank of Technical Officer/Senior Technical Assistant) (several posts) in the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine (Ref.: 494039) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis or a one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a certificate in phlebotomy with at least 5 passes in HKCEE including English (min. Grade C if Syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007), Chinese (Level 2 from 2007) and Mathematics, OR min. Level 2 in 5 subjects in HKDSEE including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics. Blood-taking experience in clinical and community settings is essential. Experience in drawing blood from infant and toddlers, and finger- and heel-prick is highly desirable. Applicants should be self-motivated and highly committed. They should have a good command of spoken Cantonese; strong communication, problem-solving, organizational and administrative skills; and the ability to work in a team and to coordinate research projects independently. Those with lower qualification and/or less experience may be considered as Senior Technical Assistant. The appointees will participate in large-scale epidemiological studies under the supervision of Dr. Patrick Ip. They will perform blood-taking on pregnant women, infants and toddlers at various sites in Hong Kong.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointments on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
