Applicants are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in SORT: China Contemporary China in the Department of Geography (Ref.: 495645) (to commence from January 1, 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter, but in any case not later than March 31, 2020, for a period of 2 to 3 years)
We are seeking energetic and productive candidates to strengthen our ongoing research on China’s urban and regional development. Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in Geography or a related discipline (e.g. planning, sociology, politics and economics) and a demonstrated record of relevant scholarly publications. They should have research experience in one or more of the following key subfields in the study of China: urban renewal and urban land redevelopment; housing policy and housing market; financialization of urban governance; growth and transformation of mega-urban regions; innovation, creativity and regional development; and growth of resilient cities and regions. Relevant field work experience in China would be preferred.
The appointee will be expected to participate in interdisciplinary research activities in the China research cluster of the Faculty of Social Sciences and the China SORT of the University. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.
