Event Manager (in the grade of Research Assistant I) in the School of English (Ref.: 497024) (to commence as soon as possible for one year)
Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of relevant experience, excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English and Chinese, and IT proficiency in common computer applications. Those with experience in large-scale event management or public relations, and in web and social media platforms are preferred. Good communication skills are essential, as the appointee will need to communicate with not only internal parties, but also various external parties such as scholars and participants all over the world, and service providers. They must be a good team player, self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility, and also have the ability to work independently. The appointee will be responsible for the School’s (i) event management, ranging from small-scale events such as the School’s seminars and Distinguished Guest lectures, to large-scale events such as the “Sociolinguistics Symposium 23” conference attended by around 1,200 participants scheduled for June 2020; and (ii) web presence and its social media accounts.
