Applications are invited for appointment as Senior Project Manager/Project Manager (at the rank of Administrative Assistant II) in the President’s Office (Ref.: 499985) to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. or other advanced research degree in Science or Engineering (preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or Chemistry) with normally 3-5 years’ relevant experience, including supervisory experience. They should demonstrate excellence in research and project management. Experience in grants and/or funding application is a plus. Applicants should have an excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua). They should also have strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving and communication skills; and the ability to work independently with initiative. A high level of computer literacy, and work knowledge/experience in activities in China or overseas would be advantage. Those with less experience may be appointed as Project Manager.
The appointee, reporting to the Senior Advisor to the President, will coordinate large research projects including drafting and polishing of proposals and reports, liaising with academics and government officials, and assisting in the development and implementation of the University’s global projects. He/She may be required to work outside normal office hours and to perform duty trips to Mainland China or overseas. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
