Laboratory Analyst (at the rank/grade of Technical Officer/Senior Research Assistant/Research Assistant I) in the Clinical Trials Centre (Ref.: 500313) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Applied Biology, Biotechnology with at least 3 years’ work experience; or a Master’s degree or equivalent in Analytical Chemistry, Applied Chemistry with at least 1 year’s post-qualification experience; or a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry or Biological Sciences with solid knowledge of biological sample quantitation. They should be competent in biological sample preparation, bioanalytical method development, LC/MS system operation for quantitative analysis, and therapeutic drug monitoring. Experience in data and information system management is an advantage. They should be detail-minded and be able to work independently as well as co-operatively with other team members. They should also have good organizational, problem-solving and communication skills; and a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua). Applicants with less experience may also be considered.
The appointee will support the technical operations of the HKU Pharmacokinetics Laboratory under the Clinical Trials Centre, including but not limited to developing new methods and new approach on bioanalysis; analyzing biological samples; assisting in formal report write-ups, laboratory equipment calibration and maintenance; managing laboratory systems/inventory; and performing other laboratory-related duties as assigned.
