The Joint Universities Computer Centre (JUCC) Limited (http://www.jucc.edu.hk) is located in Information Technology Services. Incorporated in 1970, the JUCC is a cooperative effort of the Computing/Information Technology Services Centres of the eight government-funded tertiary institutions in Hong Kong. Being the consortium of the tertiary institutions of Hong Kong, the JUCC has a long history of inter-institutional collaboration in the development and application of IT in the higher education community, contributing to education and the development of IT in Hong Kong. JUCC's primary objective is to coordinate, develop, provide and advise on computing and IT services in teaching, learning, research and administration for its member institutions and Hong Kong’s education community at large. The JUCC today comprises eight institutional full members and eleven affiliate members.
Applicants should have: 1) 5 passes in HKCEE, including English (min. Grade C if Syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007), Chinese (Level 2 from 2007) and Mathematics OR min. Level 2 or equivalent in 5 subjects in HKDSEE including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics, with at least 5 years’ relevant experience (including a minimum of 3 years as an accounts clerk or a comparable position); OR a recognized Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related disciplines, with at least 2 years’ experience in bookkeeping, auditing and other related fields; 2) proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese (Putonghua will be an advantage); 3) a strong sense of responsibility, being self-motivated and attentive to details, and the ability to handle multi-tasks and work under stress to meet deadlines; 4) the ability to work in teams and independently; 5) excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and 6) demonstrated IT proficiency and willingness to acquire new skill sets and knowledge such as website editing, using repository systems and accounting systems.
Reporting to the General Manager, the appointee is responsible for: 1) performing bookkeeping and accounting works, 2) providing administrative and secretarial support to the JUCC, 3) coordinating inter-institutional projects and events, and 4) performing other duties as assigned. He/She will work at the Department’s Cyberport campus. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.
