Senior Research Assistant (holding the functional title of Senior Project Officer) in the Centre for Civil Society and Governance (Ref.: 502293) (to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary basis or two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)
Applicants should possess a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, Anthropology, Urban Studies or a related discipline with at least 3 years’ relevant work experience. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; the ability to work independently and as a team; and good knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods. Experience in project management and curation in Cultural Heritage Studies, Anthropology, Sustainable Development, and/or work experience in community planning, place-making and communication would be an advantage.
The appointee will be responsible for developing and managing action research projects; preparing project proposals; developing and leading community outreach activities; and performing other teaching and research-related duties as assigned by the Director of the Centre. He/She is also required to work outdoor at rural areas occasionally. Working public holidays/during weekends are occasionally required.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on two-year fixed-term basis will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
