Research Assistant I in the School of Public Health (Ref: 503350) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree or above in public health, nursing, health science, biostatistics, bioinformatics or related disciplines, with at least 1 year’s work experience in clinical or community-based research. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese); good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills; a strong sense of responsibility; and the ability to acquire new statistical techniques through self-learning. They should be highly motivated, attentive to details, and able to multi-task and work independently. Experience in recruiting participants from the community and organizing clinical follow-ups with blood collection is highly preferred. Experience in managing and analysing routinely collected health record data or omics data (e.g. genomics) using R and/or Stata will be a significant advantage.

The appointee will work on a population-based cohort of older adults and studies of medication. He/She will coordinate projects, recruit participants via telephone and/or face-to-face interviews, collect and manage data, conduct statistical analyses, prepare reports and publications, and perform administrative tasks and other duties as assigned. This post will provide an excellent opportunity of practical and analytical experience in the fields of medicine and public health.
