Technical Manager/ Assistant Technical Manager in the Centre for PanorOmic Sciences (Ref.: 503659) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a Master’s degree or above in Biology, Physics or other related disciplines in science and engineering, preferably with experience in laboratory management, operation of Cryro-Electron Microscopy (EM), and sharing knowledge through training seminars. They should have good interpersonal and organizational skills, excellent communication skills, proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua), and the ability to work independently as well as in a multi-disciplinary team. Those with lower qualifications may be considered for appointment as Assistant Technical Manager.
The appointee will contribute and manage the day-to-day operation of microscopes, provide technical support to facility’s users for methodology development, provide training for new users, assist in advising and troubleshooting in the research projects for the facility’s users, provide general administrative support, and perform any other duties as assigned.
