Part-time Student Research Assistant (several posts) in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 504244) (to commence as soon as possible for six months, with the possibility of renewal)
Applicants should be current undergraduate or postgraduate students. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese); good organizational, interpersonal and communication skills; and a strong work ethic. They should be highly-motivated, detail-minded, and able to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment. Preference will be given to those with experience in conducting questionnaires.
The appointees will assist the research team in conducting: (i) a randomized controlled trial of economics-based incentives to improve lifestyle and glucose control for type 2 diabetes; or (ii) a cohort study to evaluate the statutory maternity leave policy extension. They will recruit participants at hospital and clinics, conduct surveys, provide weekly feedback to study participants, and perform other duties as assigned. They will work at least 2 sessions (3 to 4 hours per session) per week, and will be required to travel to various study sites occasionally.
