Research Assistant I/II (several posts) in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 525926) (to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis or a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in public health, medical science, biomedicine or related disciplines, with experience in clinical research and statistical analysis, and knowledge of infectious disease epidemiology. They should be proficient in both spoken and written English and Chinese (including Putonghua), with a keen interest in epidemiological research. They should be organized, responsible, detail-minded, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as in a team. Those with lower qualifications may be considered for appointment as Research Assistant II.

The appointees will work on community-based studies of the epidemiology and vaccine responses of respiratory virus infections including COVID-19 and influenza. They will recruit participants in outreach centres, conduct regular follow-up activities including in-person/ telephone interviews, assist in specimen collection and delivery, conduct health education, and perform other duties as assigned. Irregular working hours may be required occasionally. Information about the School can be obtained at http://sph.hku.hk/.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointments on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
