Research Assistant I/II (several posts) in the Division of Epidemiology and Biostatistics of the School of Public Health (Ref.: 525973) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in statistics, biostatistics, public health or a related discipline, with a keen interest in epidemiological and public health research. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English, and a demonstrated academic track record. They must be proficient in data analysis using statistical or mathematical software, preferably R and MATLAB. They should be organized, responsible, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as in a team. Experience in epidemiology or public health research will be an advantage. Those with lower qualifications and/or less experience may be appointed as Research Assistant II.

The appointees will assist in the development of epidemiological and/or statistical inferential frameworks for assessing the dynamics of influenza and COVID-19. He/She will conduct data collection and estimation of epidemiological parameters, with an aim to achieve better and real-time assessment of the disease dynamics and the impact of the interventions. He/She will also assist in generating the research report, write manuscripts, and perform other research-related duties as assigned.
