Research Assistant I/II (several posts) in the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 526732) (to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis or a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree or above in biological/biomedical sciences. They should have knowledge of cell biology, molecular biology and mammalian cell culture. They should be proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese), and able to work independently as well as in a team. The appointee will participate in a research grant-funded project which uses human-induced pluripotent stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes as a disease model and for drug screening to study muscular dystrophies or studies children with rare muscular dystrophies including their clinical phenotypes and correlating the findings with sophisticated brain imaging and related genetic and biomarkers evaluation. He/She will conduct cell differentiation and related experiments under supervision, and perform other research duties as assigned. Candidates with prior experience in iPSC culture and/or working with children/people with special needs and/or knowledge of SPSS and statistical analysis will be advantageous but are not a must.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary.
