Technical Officer / Senior Technical Assistant (holding the functional title of Agroforestry Technician) in the Centre for Civil Society and Governance (Ref.: 526786) (to commence as soon as possible for one year with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability) 

Applicants should possess a minimum of 5 passes in HKDSEE or HKCEE, or an equivalent qualification, including English (minimum Grade C if Syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007) and Chinese (Level 2 from 2007), and at least 3 years of experience in Tree or Arboriculture works. Applicants should have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, as well as possess good organizational and interpersonal skills. They should also demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work both independently and in a team. Applicants are required to have solid experience in Chainsaw and Horticultural/Agricultural Machinery operation and maintenance. Priority will be given to those with relevant management experience and qualifications in Horticulture, Arboriculture or Agriculture. Experience in tree climbing and aerial tree work would be an advantage.

The successful candidate will be appointed to work on the farms at Lai Chi Wo and Mui Tzs Lam Village, where they will be responsible for conducting and coordinating agroforestry production and management. Their main duties will include daily agroforest maintenance works, such as tree/crop planting, primary production, tree pruning/removal, enforcing occupational safety instructions and regulations, and other related tasks.

A highly competitive salary, commensurate with qualifications and experience, will be offered, along with annual leave and medical benefits. Accommodation in a dormitory will be provided, and the successful applicant is encouraged to stay on-site between working days.
