Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Professor/Associate Professor/Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy (Ref.: 526951), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in pharmacology or other relevant disciplines, with a strong track record of high-quality research.  Those with research interests that complement the departmental research strategy with a focus on cardiovascular or metabolic pharmacology are highly desirable. They should also demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching, outstanding academic leadership, and evidence of international recognition. Experience in ischemic animal models and electrophysiology will be an advantage.  Those with less experience may be considered for appointment as Associate Professor or Assistant Professor.

The appointee will contribute to the curriculum development of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in medicine, pharmacy, biomedical sciences, nursing and/or Chinese medicine. He/She will also conduct independent and collaborative scholarly research, and undertake administrative duties at the Department and Faculty levels. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
