IT Assistant (holding the functional title of Assistant Multimedia Designer), HKU Jockey Club Enterprise Sustainability Global Research Institute in the Faculty of Business and Economics (Ref.: 527349) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

HKU Jockey Club Enterprise Sustainability Global Research Institute, a strategic collaboration between The University of Hong Kong (HKU) and The Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC), aspires to establish as a world-class hub for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), fostering the best practices for Hong Kong, Asia and beyond. Bringing together distinguished global scholars from diverse fields, our mission is to foster a multidisciplinary approach to ESG research and training, as well as to forge partnerships with private and public sectors for sustainability initiatives and responsible leadership advocacy.

Applicants should possess a diploma in Graphic Design, Multimedia, Web Design, Photography, Creative Media, or other related disciplines with at least 1 year of relevant experience in graphic design photography or videography. Applicants should have excellent design, communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as proficiency in English and Chinese.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Design and develop visually engaging and informative graphics, illustrations, and other visual content for the Institute's ESG research projects and initiatives.
  • Manage and maintain the Institute's web content, ensuring a consistent and user-friendly experience across digital platforms.
  • Produce and edit high-quality photo and video content for the Institute's ESG research projects and initiatives, including promotional videos, educational materials, and event coverage.
  • Manage the entire production process, from concept development and scripting to filming, editing, and post-production.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the University Faculty to identify opportunities for leveraging visual storytelling and graphic design to support ESG-related communication and engagement.
  • Ensure the quality, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines for all design and web content produced by the Institute.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors

Requirements include:

  • Proficiency in graphic design and video production software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects or other industry-standard programs and web content management systems (e.g., WordPress, Drupal).
  • Familiarity with web design best practices, responsive design techniques, and the ability to create user-friendly and visually appealing web layouts.
  • Good understanding of video editing, motion graphics, and multimedia principles, with the ability to create visually engaging and compelling multimedia content.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present design concepts and ideas effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a keen eye for details and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Proactive and adaptable attitude towards learning new design and web content technologies, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
