Library Assistant (Lending Services) in the University Libraries (Ref.: 528695)

 

We are looking for Library Assistant to join the University Libraries to provide quality service for Lending Services and/or other functional area(s).

 

The Role

 

The appointees will perform a wide range of Lending Services duties, including circulation, inter-library loans, membership and registration, patron assistance, shelf and facilities management, and any other duties assigned by supervisors. Shift duty on evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as well as cross-library branches, is required.

 

Qualifications and Qualities

 

Applicants should possess 5 passes in HKCEE, including English (min. grade C if Syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007), OR min. Level 2 or equivalent in 5 subjects in HKDSEE, including English Language, preferably with a recognized certificate in library assistants or in the area of digital library/information center management. Prior experience in library and counter services would be an advantage. They should have proficiency in spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua), as well as basic knowledge of PC and software applications.

What We Offer

 

The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years, to commence as soon as possible, with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
