Applications are invited for appointments as Research Assistant in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. 

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in materials science, mechanics, mechanical engineering or related disciplines. They should have rich knowledges in performing basic material characterization including Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), Focused Ion Beam (FIB) and so on. 

The appointee should be able to work independently and as a team with the ability to handle multi-tasks and be attentive to details. Excellent communication skills of spoken and written English and Chinese (Putonghua or Cantonese) is required. 

The appointee will be responsible for the operation of various research projects, including but not limited to do some material characterization and perform other laboratory duties as assigned. For more information about the post, please email Yi Wang at wang.yi20@connect.hku.hk.
