Full-time/Part-time Research Assistant I/II or Student Research Assistant in the School of Public Health (Ref.: 528832) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)

Applicants for Research Assistant I/II should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above, preferably in biostatistics, epidemiology, statistics, mathematics, computer science, public health or related disciplines. Applicants for Student Research Assistant should be current undergraduate or postgraduate students, preferably in above-mentioned disciplines. They should have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese; good interpersonal, organizational and communication skills, and a strong sense of responsibility. They should be detail-oriented and able to work independently and as a team. Knowledge of infectious disease epidemiology, systematic review and quantitative skills is highly desirable. Experience in statistical analysis, proficiency in statistical and computer modelling software (e.g. R, Python, Matlab, C++) and a keen interest in research in infectious disease epidemiology would be advantages.

The appointee will assist in studies related to integrating different data sources to conduct inference on epidemiology, public health intervention, or disease forecasting of infectious disease such as COVID-19 and influenza. He/She will conduct literature reviews, assist in data cleaning and analysis, prepare publications and reports, and perform other duties as assigned.
