Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Assistant Professor/ Associate Professor in the Bau Institute of Medical and Health Sciences Education, LKS Faculty of Medicine (Ref.: 530104), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract subject to satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Medicine, Health Science Education or related areas. They should have demonstrated strong teaching and research experience in the relevant area, a strong commitment to knowledge exchange/ community engagement, and a keen interest in promoting undergraduate student learning and postgraduate training. Preference will be given to those who have experience in medical education, e-learning theory, programme design, and evaluation, as well as in the scholarship and evaluation of assessment related to a large-scale cross-faculty interprofessional education and collaborative practice.
The appointee will be expected to (i) develop and deliver courses to undergraduate medical students according to his/her expertise; (ii) conduct research within the area of health sciences education; (iii) contribute to the professional development of Faculty teachers, and conduct medical education research and scholarship relating to the e-learning activities of the Faculty; (iv) provide training in clinical education to allied healthcare professionals in the region; (v) supervise student projects and theses; and (vi) take up administrative and/or clinical teaching duties as required. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
