Research Assistant I/II in the School of Biomedical Sciences (Ref.: 530160) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should have a bachelor degree or above preferably in Biological Science, Biochemistry, Biomedical Sciences, Biophysics or related disciplines. An ideal candidate should have excellent experimentation and communication skills. Preference will be given to applicants with a strong background in at least some of the listed fields: molecular biology, protein purification, stem cell biology, genome engineering, neuroscience, structural biology, or fluorescence microscopy. Experience in cell imaging or single-molecule fluorescence microscopy will be a plus.

The appointee should be organized, self-motivated, highly committed and be able to work independently as well as in a team. He/She will participate in a research project to investigate how human tubulin isotypes regulate microtubule morphology and functions in health and disease. He/She will work in Professor Jeff Ti’s lab which employs single-molecule fluorescence and electron microscopy to dissect the molecular basis that confers diverse human tubulin isotypes' unique and essential functions.
