Senior Technical Officer in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 531567) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Biomedical Science or a related discipline. They should be familiar with molecular biology techniques, preferably with experience in DNA sequencing, next generation sequencing and single cell analysis. Those who have knowledge of bioinformatics analysis, and holder of Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT) Part II license issued by HKMLT Board would be preferred.
The appointee will perform genetic tests on samples from subfertile couples and their embryos. He/She will work mainly in the preimplantation genetic laboratory and may provide support to other diagnostic tests at the University’s teaching hospitals. He/She may be required to travel to Shenzhen occasionally. Working on weekends/public holidays will be required.
