Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer/Assistant Lecturer in the Faculty of Engineering(Ref.:533806), to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

The Faculty of Engineering is committed to providing high-quality education in Artificial Intelligence (AI) for undergraduate students to keep status quo. These courses represent key initiatives to promote active learning and interdisciplinary mindset through project-based pedagogy, inspiring students to engage with real-world engineering applications.

We are seeking passionate educators to join our teaching team in designing and delivering lectures, tutorials, and project-based learning experiences in AI-related courses. To ensure the courses remain up to date and relevant, appointees are expected to regularly review and update teaching materials, incorporating the latest developments in AI. The appointed candidate will also supervise student-driven projects within the Faculty of Engineering and collaborative initiatives with external partners.

Candidates with substantial practical experience in applying AI to solve engineering challenges are especially encouraged to apply, as we value professional insight alongside academic excellence. Successful applicants should be comfortable in teaching and supervising in a dynamic international environment.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  1. A Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or related engineering fields;
  2. Demonstrated expertise in Artificial Intelligence, including but not limited to computer vision, intelligent robotics, or large language models;
  3. Practical experience in applying AI techniques to engineering problems; and
  4. A strong record of, or clear potential for, excellence in teaching practice-oriented courses, mentoring students, and supervising projects.

Based on the teaching experience and academic qualifications, suitable candidates will be considered for positions ranging from Assistant Lecturer or Lecturer.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary for Lecturer, or up to 10% of basic salary for Assistant Lecturer.
