Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor in the Department of Orthopaedics and Traumatology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 533810), to commence as soon as possible, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal, subject to financial availability and satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Engineering, Medicine, Biology or other related disciplines. Interdisciplinary expertise along with experience in conducting collaborative research with clinical scientists or industrial partners would be advantages. Post-doctoral experience in basic/clinical studies and evidence in successful competitive research grant applications are essential. They should be organized, self-motivated, fluent in written and spoken English, and able to work independently as well as in a multi-disciplinary team of orthopaedic engineers, surgeons, and biologists.  The appointee will work as an independent investigator tacking musculoskeletal disorders with advanced biotechnology and biomaterials to provide solutions such as biomarkers for precision clinical decision making and potential therapeutic strategies to improve clinical practices.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 15% of basic salary.  Other benefits include annual leave and professional leave, medical benefits, and free access to on-campus gyms and libraries.
