Clerk I in the Department of Ophthalmology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 534363) (to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary basis or a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should have 5 passes in HKCEE, including English (min. grade C if Syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007), Chinese (Level 2 from 2007) and Mathematics, OR min. Level 2 or equivalent in 5 subjects in HKDSEE including English Language, Chinese Language and Mathematics or equivalent, with at least 5 years’ relevant work experience and specialized training in ophthalmology.  They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including fluent Cantonese), the ability to work independently and in a team, and good communication and interpersonal skills.  They should also be organised, highly motivated, responsible, resourceful, attentive to details, and able to multi-task. 

The appointee will provide clinical and clerical support for day-to-day services; prepare reports; handle general enquiries; and perform other duties as assigned.  He/She will mainly work in the HKU Eye Centre located in Wong Chuk Hang.  Working outside normal office hours may be required occasionally.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.  The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
