Research Assistant I/II (holding a functional title of Full-Stack Web Developer) in the Division of Restorative Dental Sciences of the Faculty of Dentistry (Ref.: 534642)

 

We are looking for a Research Assistant I/II (holding a functional title of Full-Stack Web Developer) in the Division of Restorative Dental Sciences of the Faculty of Dentistry.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on user behaviours, emerging technologies, and industry best practices to inform LMS development strategies and ensure innovative, user-centered solutions;
  • Design, develop, and maintain responsive websites and web applications using modern frontend and backend technologies;
  • Collaborate with Frontend designer and stakeholders to define project requirements and create user-focused solutions;
  • Implement and maintain website and web application features and functionality, troubleshooting and debugging as needed;
  • Ensure website and web application security and data protection best practices are followed;
  • Stay current with the latest full-stack web development trends, technologies, and best practices; and
  • Provide technical support and guidance to clients or end-users when necessary.

 

Qualifications and Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Web Development, or a related discipline;
  • Ideally at least 1 year of experience in Full-Stack/ Frontend web development, including proficiency in Node.js, Express.js, JavaScript, PostgreSQL;
  • Strong understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility;
  • Experience working with modern frontend frameworks and libraries (e.g.,Vue.js) ;
  • Experience with backend technologies (e.g., Node.js, Laravel), and both SQL and NoSQL databases development;
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to details;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment;
  • Preference would be given to those with experience with LLM integrations and knowledge of learning management systems; and
  • High-calibrated fresh graduates will be considered.

Those with higher qualifications and/or more experience may be considered for appointment as Research Assistant I.

 

What We Offer

The appointment will be made for up to a one-year basis on temporary terms, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.  A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits.
