Research Assistant I/II (holding a functional title of Full-Stack Web Developer) in the Division of Restorative Dental Sciences of the Faculty of Dentistry (Ref.: 534642)
We are looking for a Research Assistant I/II (holding a functional title of Full-Stack Web Developer) in the Division of Restorative Dental Sciences of the Faculty of Dentistry.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research on user behaviours, emerging technologies, and industry best practices to inform LMS development strategies and ensure innovative, user-centered solutions;
- Design, develop, and maintain responsive websites and web applications using modern frontend and backend technologies;
- Collaborate with Frontend designer and stakeholders to define project requirements and create user-focused solutions;
- Implement and maintain website and web application features and functionality, troubleshooting and debugging as needed;
- Ensure website and web application security and data protection best practices are followed;
- Stay current with the latest full-stack web development trends, technologies, and best practices; and
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients or end-users when necessary.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Web Development, or a related discipline;
- Ideally at least 1 year of experience in Full-Stack/ Frontend web development, including proficiency in Node.js, Express.js, JavaScript, PostgreSQL;
- Strong understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility;
- Experience working with modern frontend frameworks and libraries (e.g.,Vue.js) ;
- Experience with backend technologies (e.g., Node.js, Laravel), and both SQL and NoSQL databases development;
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git;
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to details;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment;
- Preference would be given to those with experience with LLM integrations and knowledge of learning management systems; and
- High-calibrated fresh graduates will be considered.
Those with higher qualifications and/or more experience may be considered for appointment as Research Assistant I.
What We Offer
The appointment will be made for up to a one-year basis on temporary terms, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.
