Nursing Officer in the Division of Community Medicine and Public Health Practice, School of Public Health (Ref.: 536327) (to commence as soon as possible on a one-year temporary basis or a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance)
Applicants should possess a nursing qualification registrable with the Nursing Council of Hong Kong and hold a valid practising certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Hong Kong. They should have a Master’s degree in Nursing, Public Health, or a related discipline, with at least 5 years’ post-registration experience, preferably in community health, public health practice, primary care, infection control, vaccination services, health screening, health promotion, or clinical/public health research. Experience in community-based programmes and outreach work in a variety of field settings would be an advantage.
Applicants should demonstrate strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment. Competency in phlebotomy, vaccination, specimen collection, and other participant-facing clinical procedures would be highly desirable. Applicants should also have supervisory experience and the ability to provide guidance, coordination, and support to junior nursing staff and field team members.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Support the planning, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of community-based, larger scale public health programmes and research projects;
- Assist in participant recruitment, health education, clinical assessment, data collection, and follow-up activities in accordance with established protocols;
- Perform clinical procedures, including vaccination, specimen collection, and phlebotomy, where appropriate;
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical, operational, and research records, and ensure compliance with relevant professional, safety, and quality standards;
- Support programme logistics, workflow coordination, quality assurance, and the day-to-day operation of services delivered across various community settings;
- Supervise junior staff, assist in staff deployment, and provide on-site guidance, training, and support to ensure service quality and operational efficiency; and
- Liaise with academic, clinical, and community stakeholders (e.g. NGOs, GPs and Allied Health) to facilitate smooth programme implementation and service delivery.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
